He is graduated in Biology, in Pharmacy, and as software programmer analyst, and obtained a PhD in ecology for the University of Barcelona. He is now Research Professor of the National Research Council of Spain (CSIC) at Center for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF), and director of the Global Ecology Unit CREAF-CSIC-UB-UAB at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.
