    I was born in Archidona (Málaga) in 1950, I am a Full Professor (Catedrática de Universidad) of Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of Salamanca since 2002. Previously, I was a Professor (Profesora Titular) at the University of Barcelona (1984-1995) and in Salamanca (1995-2002). I studied Philosophy at the University of Barcelona and, thanks to “Plan Maluquer”, I was able to design my own curriculum focused on Logic, Mathematics and Linguistics to obtained my degree in Philosophy in 1974. I began my teaching and research career at the same university and received a Research Grant from the Juan March Foundation (1975-1976) while writing my doctoral thesis, General Models for Second Order Logic (1977), under the direction of Jesús Mosterín. With a Fulbright Senior scholarship (1977-1978), I enhanced my knowledge on these subjects at the University of California, (at Berkeley, USA), within the Group in Logic and the Methodology of Science, founded in 1957 by Alfred Tarski and Leon Henkin. Henkin was my mentor, and since then his friendship and teachings have guided my teaching and research career.

Between 1991 and 1996 he was Deputy Research Rector at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He has been a visiting lecturer at several international institutions, including the University of New York (USA) where he has done research on History of Astronomy; the University of Quilmes (Argentina) where he taught a course on History of Astronomy and Cosmology and the Higher Technological Institute of Monterrey (Mexico), UNAM (Mexico). He was a member of the Alfonso Reyes Chair of the Monterrey Institute of Technology between 2000 and 2006. Since the beginning of his career, he has worked primarily in the fields of philosophy and history of science and technology. He is currently working on the analysis of the relationship between science and war.

    She holds both an MD in Medicine and Surgery and a PhD in Spanish Linguistics and Literature from the University of Salamanca. She completed her education at the Insitute of Lexicography of the Spanish Royal Academy of Language (Madrid). With a postdoctoral scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Education, she worked at the Académie de Médecine in Paris and at the Université de Paris XIII-CNRS.

    She is a Full Professor at the University of Salamanca (in the area of History of Science), where she teaches in the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Humanities, Translation and Interpretation and Hispanic Philology. She also teaches in various postdoctoral courses in other universities, such as the Master’s Degree in Medical Translation at the Castellón-based University Jaime I. As an invited Professor she has delivered lectures, courses and workshops in many organizations and occassions, both in Europe, Southamerica and the United States.

    I was born in 1954. Full professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science at University Carlos III de Madrid (Department of Humanities) from 2002. Before lecturer at Universidad de Salamanca (Department of Philosophy). Doctorate by Universidad de Salamanca, and visiting scholar at Brown university. My main topics of research are epistemology, and especially social epistemology, theory or rationality and action, and philosophy of technology, especially the relationship between technology and culture. I have taken part of 21 research projects, as main researcher in 7 of the Plan Nacional de Investigación. I was founder member of the academic societies: Sociedad Española de Filosofía, Historia y Metodología de la Ciencia y de la Sociedad Española de Filosofía Analítica.  I am member of the editorial board of journals as Teorema, I was chairperson of the Department of Philosohy, and member of many panels of scientific evaluators in different institutions as ANEP of Ministry of Science. Member of the panel “The 100” of the Real Foundation COTEC. As researcher I won 6 six-year terms of research.

    Born in Madrid (1963). PhD in Philosophy (1993) and Economics (2001), in both cases from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He is full professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science in the Faculty of Philosophy of the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED, Madrid), since 2008, where he teaches philosophy and history of science. Previously, he was associate professor in the same faculty (since 2002), and teaching fellow at the Department of Economics of Universidad Carlos III (Madrid). He also was high school teacher of philosophy and economics sicne 1988, and has made research and teaching visits to the universities of Helsinki, Aix-en-Provence and Konstanz, as well as the CNR in Rome.
