Carmen Herrero

Doctor in Mathematics, Professor at the University of Alicante, and Researcher at Ivie. Honorary Degree in Economics by the University of Granada, 2014, and Rey Jaime I Prize in Economics, 2017.

Main field of research: justice and equity, health economics and mathematical economics.

Apart from some technical contributions in Micro, there are axiomatic studies to distributive problems, cost or surplus sharing with non-homogeneous agents; in health, management and costs of waiting lists, early detection and prevention and their relationship with equality of opportunity.

As for their socioeconomic impact, there are some monographies devoted to the evaluation of traffic crashes, the evolution of development in the Spanish Regions, the impact of the crisis on their welfare, and the participation in the building of Human Development Indicators, with the United Nations.
