Ana Lluch

Head of the Hematology and Medical Oncology Department in the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valencia, Spain, since 2015, as well as Chair of Department in the School of Medicine in the Universitat de València, since 2010. Her area of expertise is breast cancer.

She improved her medical knowledge with scientific stays in prestigious institutions such as the Istituto per lo Studio e la Cura dei Tumori, Milano (Italia) and the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston (United States).

She has directed more than 30 PhDs dissertations, submitted a great number of abstracts to the main national and international congresses and given lectures and conferences nationally and internationally. She has published more than 300 manuscripts in national and international journals and collaborated in book publications of her specialty.

As Principal Investigator she has been given 9 research grants from the national Health Institute Carlos III in Madrid. She has also been Co-Investigator in other 9 research grants from the same institution. Example of her research activity is her search for new more effective and less toxic drugs, as targeted therapies. She has made a great contribution to the development research lines to identify prognostic and predictive biomarkers of therapeutic response which allow personalized care for many patients with breast cancer.

She belongs to many scientific societies such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), Sociedad Española de Oncología Médica (SEOM), Sociedad Española de Senología y Patología Mamaria (SESPM), Grupo Español en Cáncer de Mama (GEICAM) and Grupo Español de Estudio y Tratamientos Experimentales de Tumores Sólidos (SOLTI) She is consultant to several official breast cancer committees and member of many scientific review committees.
